VACCINATIONS & PREVENTATIVES

We recommend the following vaccination protocol for puppies/dogs:

  • Puppies are vaccinated monthly at 6-8 weeks, 10-12 weeks and 14-16 weeks.
  • Adult dogs should receive a full C5 vaccination 12 months after their last puppy booster, and then every 3 years.
  • Adult dogs should receive a kennel cough vaccination annually.

We recommend the following vaccination protocol for kittens/cats:

  • Kittens are vaccinated with the core F3 vaccine at 8 weeks, 12 weeks and 16 weeks.
  • All adult cats are vaccinated annually with the core F3 vaccine.
  • All outdoor cats and kittens are advised to receive the FIV (Feline Aids) vaccination.

We offer a range of parasite preventatives including oral and topical medications and the annual heartworm injection.

GENERAL HEALTH ASSESSMENTS

Our health assessments include and are not limited to:

  • General wellness exams to ensure optimum health of your pet.
  • Assessment of various health concerns including skin disease, lumps, gastrointestinal issues, lameness etc.
  • Weight management programs tailored to your pet and lifestyle.
  • Multimodal arthritis treatment programs tailored to your pet.
  • Fit to fly certification.
  • Examinations for pet insurance (e.g. cruciate ligament assessments).
DIAGNOSTIC TESTING

We offer the following diagnostic tests:

  • Microscopic examination of ear and skin samples in-consult.
  • Microscopic examination of lump aspirates in-consult. For complicated or concerning lumps, we may send the sample to a specialist pathologist.
  • Faecal testing for internal parasites.
  • Comprehensive urine testing.
  • Comprehensive range of blood tests through an external laboratory.

Please allow up to three working days for laboratory results.

HOME EUTHANASIA

Our home euthanasia service includes a calming sedative medication, peaceful and compassionate euthanasia, and a keepsake clay paw print impression. Prices range from $420 to $470 depending on the size of your pet.

The following aftercare options are available through Forever Paws Pet Cremations:

  1. Home burial – We will provide a complimentary eco-friendly burial pouch and advice from your local council on pet burial.
  2. Cremation ‘with a friend’ by Forever Paws Pet Cremations. This includes collection of your pet after the service by Forever Paws and cremation with one other pet. With this option, the ashes are not returned to you. Crematorium fees start from $230.
  3. Private cremation by Forever Paws Pet Cremations. This includes collection of your pet after the service by Forever Paws, and an individual cremation. With this option, your pet’s ashes are returned to your home in your choice of urn or scatter pouch. Crematorium fees start from $330.
